Professional Goal Statement:
I want to become a great sports physical therapist with a solid foundation in clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, and the ability to adapt and overcome any situation. I strive to be a focal point for athletes to achieve their goals and return to playing and performing at a level they desire. Staying current and relevant with research and being open minded about the changing and advancement of the profession is something I always want to embody. I love this profession and wish to continue having that same passion throughout my career.

- Improve verbiage and be more conscious of the negative affects that our words as a PT can have on individuals
- Learn to be okay with the fact that there is not one “best solution” – ask 5 PTs how to treat the same patient and there will be 15 different answers
- Continue to shadow and learn from other professionals in this field
Objectives:
- Earn DPT and pass NPTE in 2023
- Obtain my SCS within 3 years post-graduation
- Become employed in a collegiate or professional setting
- Become a board certified Sport Clinical Specialist
- Improve clinical reasoning to become confident in answers and solutions in more ambiguous situations
- Become a great Physical Therapist to help and improve the lives of as many individuals as possible
Specific Strategies:
- Continue with current NPTE study plan
- Stay relevant with current research and material relevant to sports physical therapy
- Continue to attend conferences and continuing educational courses like CSM
- Continue to be a member of the APTA and AASPT
- Become involved with local sport organizations to grow my own knowledge, experience and develop a larger professional network
Justice, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion:
The experiences I had with justice, equality, diversity and inclusion throughout my three years at UNC has allowed me to develop and appreciate a greater understanding of how to care for individuals of many different backgrounds. I believe there is always room to grow and advocate for inclusivity and that is something I hope to take with me throughout my career. It is important as a healthcare professional to be willing to take a stance and provide an opportunity for change.

Reflective Statement:
My experience at UNC has given me an opportunity to pursue my passions, grow my clinical knowledge and become confident in my ability to care for and treat a wide range of individuals. I know the skills I have gathered at my time here will allow me to achieve my professional goals and given me an understanding of my own drive and passions. I am excited for the future for myself but also for all of my classmates and the great things I know they will all accomplish.
