Professional Goal statement

After graduating with my doctorate in Physical Therapy from UNC Chapel Hill and becoming a licensed physical therapist, my plan is to obtain a job in the Triangle area in the Acute Care setting. Sample Work

 Interprofessional Education Activities

Throughout our curriculum we have gotten multiple opportunities to collaborate with a variety of different professions and work on different cases together. These experiences have been particularly helpful for clinicals because a majority of the time we are working with other clinicians rather than just physical therapists. Working on cases with occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical students and other disciplines has opened my eyes to be able to look at patient cases in a different light than I maybe would have before. Some of the important qualities that I think stood out in these IPE experiences include communication, respect, and knowing when to speak up and knowing when it’s time to simply listen. I hope to continue to use these skills I have learned as I start to work and collaborate with other disciplines in the medical field.

 Reflective Statement

Over the past three years in physical therapy school, I have learned more about myself as a student and as a clinician than I could have ever predicted. These three years have been a roller coaster of highs and lows, and I was lucky enough to have a great group of people to help get me through it. I have gained so many clinical tools that will allow me to continuously grow as a physical therapist and throughout each class and clinical I have found my passion for treating patients in the acute setting. From being a 1st year not thinking I would make it through biomechanics, to working with complex oncology patients in inpatient rehab on my final clinical, it’s so exciting to see how much I have grown throughout these years. I am excited to continue to learn and see where this career takes me!
