Reflective Statement:

I am very thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow with UNC’s physical therapy program over the last 3 years. The program was well designed to challenge me and allow me to grow as a clinician and a person. I have also found great mentorship from faculty, alumni, and past clinical instructors that have played a significant role in my success to this point. I am so very appreciative to all those who gave their time and effort to further my education.

This program has also given me the opportunity to work in various settings from acute care, to pediatrics, to outpatient orthopedics. It has helped me confirm that I am most passionate about outpatient orthopedics, specifically sports. However, I learned great lessons from each experience that will make me a more well-rounded and confident clinician as I start my career.

I am proud of my progress over the last 3 years as I feel prepared to be a competent, entry-level physical therapist. With that being said, I certainly have high expectations for myself. So, I am committed to pursuing learning opportunities throughout my career in order to constantly improve my ability to provide quality care to patients. My hopes are to find a clinic whose mission aligns with my passions and to not only take a responsive approach but a preventative approach to physical therapy.

Sieara, I enjoyed checking out your work! I especially like the PowerPoint on DCD and sports. You really captured how are language around this diagnosis, collection of issues, is evolving.

Your community resource guide was very thorough, every time I thought- oh I wonder if she included …? There it was! Good job.

I hope you find a clinic that is a perfect fit for you.
Best wishes as you launch your career!
